Product Background: First fry banana chips are made from mature green cardava banana, washed, peeled, cut into thin slices and fried in vegetable oil. It is packed in 10 kilogram packaging for delivery to exporters of sweetened banana chips.
Product Description: First Fry Banana Chips are produced by smaller banana chips processing plants and delivered to banana chips exporters for final processing (flavoring and sweetening). It is consumed as snack food or as breakfast cereal component.

Product History: The cooperative is engaged in production of coconut cooking oil through toll milling with Legaspi Oil Mill Co. Since the cooperative members also produce caradava banana, the cooperative decided to establish a banana chips processing facility in order to produce higher value added products using cardava banana and coconut cooking oil. The facility will be operational by last quarter of 2008.

About the Town:
Geography: Magpet is located in the eastern part of Cotabato province and in the foothills of Mt Apo with generally slopping and mountainous terrain. It is bordered in the south by Kidapawan City and on the north by the Municipality of Arakan. Magpet has a land area of 63,260 or 9.63 % of the land area of the province.
History: The Municipality of Magpet was created by Republic Act 3721 passed on June 22, 1963. The municipality has a rich indigenous culture from the Manobos who are original settlers of the area . The culture of the Manobo people is reflected in various festivities such as the Pakat’kalo Festival where the municipality celebrates its rich cultural history.

Population: As of August 1, 2007 Population Census = 44,114
Language: Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Ilocano and Manobo dialects
Major Industries: Basically agricultural with major crops such as Bananas – Cavendish, Lacatan, Cardava; Rubber; and Fruit Trees. Tiger grass used for soft broom making is also abundant in the area.
